"Beautiful illustrations. The story is told in simple language, taking the young reader on a journey with Eve as she tries to come up with a way to show her love for the ducklings. A great way to teach young readers about how to care for and love wildlife responsibly while respecting their boundaries...."
"What a fun story! It reminded me of my childhood and brought back fond memories. I loved the relationship between Eve and her Grandpa on their adventures to the park. Eve’s mishaps made for entertaining reading but also teaches children the importance of being kind to animals. The illustrations in this book are amazing – it is certainly one to keep on the shelf and read over and over. I really enjoyed it!"
"At once a story about intergenerational love between a grandfather and his granddaughter and an example of the power of tenacity, Eve’s Ducklings draws readers into the dynamic and precious world of an inquisitive young child. Preschool-aged readers will especially connect with Eve’s story and look forward to sharing it with their grandparents."
"The illustrations of Maria Monte and Emelie Wiklund’s picture book are delightful and serve to expand the text in a way that not too many picture books do. In short, Eve’s Ducklings makes for an inspiring read and one that is clearly worthwhile..."
"A beautiful tale of friendship between animals and children which is bound to become a favorite bedtime story. This short story will give them all the tools to grow a healthy relationship with animals of all types, be they ducks in a pool or somebody else’s pet. I recommend this beautiful tale!"
"This book is the perfect gift for/from grandparents (or other older adult family members) because of the sweet intergenerational relationship depicted here. Grandparents' Day in the U.S. is in September and with a publishing date of July 1st, the timing is quite perfect. Highly recommend for classrooms and libraries for kids preK to 2."
"In addition to a solid storyline, engaging illustrations help this picture book convey the message in a manner that will have readers giggling at times while still sympathizing with Eve’s plight. The illustrations show Eve’s emotions well enough that the reader can feel her disappointment and finally celebrate her success. These illustrations combined with the author’s use of simple text make this an entertaining and relatable adventure that appeals to all age levels.
"A super sweet and cute read about being kind to animals and to not touch or disturb them. My little ones loved it and the illustrations were perfect."
"Absolutely delightful! The pictures are just gorgeous and sure to draw the younger readers in.
I love that it is just Eve and grandad enjoying time together and their adventures in the park. The fact that some of the story is told through the illustrations means the book becomes more engaging and parents can work on comprehension as well. I just adore this.
